Inspire. Empower. Nurture.
Environmental apathy is the root cause of the climate crisis. Still, most of India’s largest demographic - the 260 million K-12 students complete school without connecting with nature and knowing the intricacies of climate change. That’s why YouCAN functions as a mission-driven non-profit organisation founded with the vision of an Earth Educator in every school and learning space in India. We improve opportunities for K-12 students to connect with nature locally and practice climate action during their formative years. YouCAN is an initiative of the Trust for Environmental Education.
Our Program
Earth Educators Fellowship
The Earth Educators Fellowship brings together 20 young environmentalists, emerging grassroots conservationists, school teachers, and informal educators who have an enterprising spirit to challenge the status quo of nature and conservation education in schools and in their communities. They are invited to embark on a 12-month leadership incubator program to explore the natural world, curate experiential learning projects for students, develop skills, and mobilize the community to reimagine nature and conservation education in schools through creative and practical ways.
Nature Quest is a nature experience space and community learning centre at Hulical, Nilgiris, India. Set up in the woods overlooking the Western Ghats Mountains, it is a place for our alumni development initiatives and workshops to bring together people who are keen to do good for nature and its conservation. It spreads joy into the lives of people, helps them reflect, find themselves, and find a place for nature in their lives.
