The ecological crisis we face needs every one of us to take up new roles to care for our planet. To do this through education, we need an enabling ecosystem that connects youth, environmentalists, school teachers and educators to reimagine the way children learn about nature, and turn awareness into action. Thanks to a lot of wonderful people, we launched the second cohort of the Earth Ambassadors Fellowship at The Gerry Martin Project’s Centre for Conservation and Education with faculty from varied expertise such as wildlife conservation, experiential learning, arts and civic action. What would emerge when a group of young men and women begin new roles, question the status quo, learn new skills and go back to their communities to connect children to nature?
