B Divya is a Wildlife conservationist and Zoo Education Officer whose work is rooted in a deep commitment to biodiversity, community engagement, and environmental literacy. For the past six years, she has been serving at the Indira Gandhi Zoological Park, Visakhapatnam, where she leads conservation education, outreach and visitor engagement programs. Her role allows her to bring science and storytelling together—whether she is guiding children through nature trails, conducting butterfly walks, designing educational exhibits, creating activity books, or speaking to communities about climate change, coexistence, and the importance of protecting ecosystems. Before stepping into this role, she worked as a Butterfly Research Assistant at IGZP, which strengthened my foundation in field biology, species identification, habitat observation, and citizen science. Over the years, she has designed and delivered more than 3,500 educational programs, engaging over 2,00,000 participants through zoo tours, classroom modules, public events, workshops, nature walks, teacher training sessions, and community activities. Academically, she holds a Master’s degree in Life Sciences (Fishery Science) from Andhra University.
